AMAIA ZIPITRIA

Pianist

Born in Andoain (Gipuzkoa). He studied in Andoain with Luis Fraca and Myriam Ulanga, in San Sebastian with Gonzalo Trevijano, in Baiona with Mme. Doué and at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Barbara Grajewska. He obtained the superior degree in piano with the highest qualifications and the title of chamber music teacher with a prize of Honour at the end of the superior degree.

 

As a member of the J.O.N.D.E (Joven Orquesta Nacional de España) from 1993 to 1998 and collaborator of orchestras such as R.T.V.E, O.N.E, Sinfónica de Euskadi, Sinfónica de Bilbao, Orquesta de Cadaqués, etc. she has been conducted by great maestros such as Carlo María Giulini, Philippe Entremont, Gianandrea Noseda, Victor Pablo Pérez, Juanjo Mena, Ernest Izquierdo, etc.

 

Accompanying pianist in the violin professorship of Zakhar Bron at the Reina Sofía school in Madrid, in the oboe classes of maestro Eduardo Martínez at the Aula de Música of the University of Alcalá de Henares and in many other master classes given by:  Vadim Repin, Maksim Vengérov, Silvia Marcovici, Isabel Vila, Nicolas Chumachenco, etc. She currently teaches cello and clarinet repertoire in the classes of Asier Polo and José Luis Estellés at the Conservatorio Superior del País Vasco Musikene.

 

Pianist with the Orfeón Donostiarra for eleven years, he has collaborated and performed with choirs of the stature of the Andra Mari Abesbatza, KUP Taldea, Euskal Herriko Gazte Abesbatza, Orfeón Pamplonés and Conductus Ensemble. He is currently a pianist with Suhar Korua conducted by Esteban Urzelai and Hots Abesbatza conducted by Aitor Biain.

 

His concert work has taken him to auditoriums such as the National Auditorium in Madrid and Barcelona, Zaragoza, Seville, Malaga, Oviedo, Euskalduna in Bilbao, Kursaal, etc., and outside Spain to Croatia, Italy, France, Switzerland and England.

 

His recordings include the Sonata nº2 by Jesús Villa-Rojo with cellist Asier Polo (NAXOS), the chamber group version of Babar, Poulenc with members of the Cadaqués Orchestra (TRITO), the Debussy Sonata with violinist Irene Echeveste and the Tartini Sonata with violinist Erica Ramallo (SONY), and the CD ‘Soinuaren bidaia’ with trombonist Alberto Urretxo.
